Colposcopy During Pregnancy
Colposcopy during pregnancy is recommended while treatment for venereal wart or genital wart may take a "wait and see" approach.
Since surgical treatments cannot be done while pregnant, follow up exams should be performed. But unless the symptoms appear worse, biopsies should only be taken at the initial exam, to keep the risk of harming the cervix or infection to a minimum.
Colposcopy during pregnancy is recommended while treatment for venereal wart or genital wart may take a "wait and see" approach.

If a pregnant women gets an abnormal Pap reading at a routine exam, it is still recommended that a second exam, with a colposcope be performed. It is safe to do while pregnant, but if biopsies are taken they should be kept at a minimum and while using precise care.
