A cold knife cone biopsy is generally performed when a vaginal wart or genital wart is present. After the procedure cramping, discomfort, and bleeding are possible. The patients should avoid sexual intercourse and douching for 4 to 6 weeks. There is a risk of infection, scarring, and extensive bleeding after the operation, it may also cause problems with a later pregnancy. A cold knife cone biopsy is generally performed when a vaginal wart or genital wart is present.
