Cone Biopsy Of Cervix
A cone biopsy of cervix tissue will diagnose if the cervix has HPV or a verruca virus present.
The operation is done with anesthesia. The doctor puts a speculum into the vagina and cuts a piece of the tissue with a knife or with a laser. Usually patients go home on the same day; a few days after the operation bleeding, discharge, and mild cramping are possible.
A cone biopsy of cervix tissue will diagnose if the cervix has HPV or a verruca virus present.

Cervical conization is a surgical procedure to find and treat problems in the women's genitalia. It is done if a Pap smear test and a colposcopy exam show abnormal cells in the vagina. During the procedure the abnormal tissue is removed and examined. A cone biopsy of cervix tissue will diagnose if the cervix has HPV or a verruca virus present.
