Cervical Leep Procedure

A cervical leep procedure may be performed by a physician following a Pap smear resulting in ASCUS. This process also allows your physician to send the removed lesions to a lab for further evaluation which determines if the whole abnormal area was removed, and allows for a more accurate assessment of the abnormal area, specifically if cancer is present. This process takes about 20-30 minutes. A cervical leep procedure may be performed by a physician following a Pap smear resulting in ASCUS.
